The Shield Against the Chill: The Hoodie
There is a specific kind of cold that settles in after you’ve been on the water. It’s a damp chill that gets into your bones. I find that most hoodies on the rack today are paper-thin; they are fashion statements, not functional tools.
The Hoodie I selected to place my designs on is built for that moment you step off the paddleboard or for prior to stepping out into the sideways rain. It is substantial! I wanted people to have a layer to reach for when the wind picks up and starts cutting. It needs to trap body heat instantly but not drown you and restrict movement. A Bones & the Bull Hoodie does not just look good but acts as a warm embrace when the elements are feeling particularly spiteful.
The Foundation: Classic Tee
The humble t-shirt is often overlooked. It’s usually treated as disposable. I thoroughly disagree with that! As someone that grew up poor, clothes needed to last and T-shirts nowadays can seem woefully constructed. This layer sits against your skin all day. If it’s scratchy, ill-fitting, or stifling, it ruins that day.

The Top (Head)

I wanted this organic for a reason. Synthetics make you sweat or itch and the forehead and ears are the worse place to feel irritated. This Beanie is like a baby-blanket shaped for your head and just offers pure, honest, comfortable warmth. It’s simple, effective, and essential for any time when the head being cold is a scenario we want avoided. Think wrapped in a sleeping bag, or early mornings waiting for water to boil or cradling a tumbler late at night beside the campfire.
The Tail (Feet)
- The Problem: Friction and fatigue.

Bad socks cause all manner of issues with blisters being just one. Good socks are forgotten while you move but then adored as you become conscious of them when relaxing.
